The Tournament Has Begun!!!!

Our kids are doing excellent in the tournament! J Shane O'Neil thinks that our students are doing especially well. The day started with some fine eggs and English muffins at Bruce Hall, personally I enjoyed some nice coffee. Then we had a couple of practice rounds. Our lab really likes Pita Pit so we are waiting until tomorrow to have our lab lunch. Special shout out to Kui who had an extremely hard draw in the tournament but still managed to give the top lab students a run for
their money. Then students were treated to some extremely classy (not trashy) movies and some fireworks. Tomorrow, the tournament continues and both Alston and Liz are very confident in our students ability to P-W-N.

Demo Debate Numero 2

The practice debates and competitions are inticing! The day started with some fine dining in Bruce Hall, children were eating eggs and talking about newly heard case positions. Then students were treated to a myraid of different electives by very qualified instructors. Following that was lunch! Then students had some more practice debates with some constructive critiques. Students weren't giving up on these rebuttal and various re-dos. Then after dinner we had a couple more practice rounds in preparation for tomorrows tournament then a quick pep-talk lab meeting!

Yay Yay Fluffy!

And the inter-lab practice debates have begun! Our students have been debating really well and trying their hardest to improve. Today we had inter-lab debates with the Beard Johnson lab, where some friendly competition was brewed among lab leaders! Special shout out to Kathleen and Issam who flows have improved T-R-E-M-E-N-D-O-U-S-L-Y since the beginning of camp. After some practice debates, and bruce hall loving students were treated to a choice of their electives – they included a drill practice, topicality, and counterplans among others. Finally the night was ended with a motivational lecture on preparation given by the one and only Mr. Timmons! There has been great responses from students regarding both the lectures and electives. Keep up the hard work children, good things are to come!

If practice makes perfect and nobodys perfect why practice????

Thankfully, OUR LAB MAKES PERFECT! Today was an awesome day for our lab. We got to sleep in late, so students were allowed to do laundry, hang out with the family, and catch up on debate work. Our students are progressing very vastly. Special shout-out to Eddd who is always willing to help out other people in the lab! What a guy, Mr. Ed! So students were treated to some electives they were very happy with the results that they got from the electives. After some practice debates and electives the camp provided some free pizza and drinks – it was a nice break from the usual Bruce Hall food. Another shout out to Sarah Ting for being a faithful blog reader.

We love our bread we love our butter but most of all WE LOVE EACHOTHER!!!!!

TGIF, am I right? AM I RIGHT? Friday has finally come and our tired labbies get to get out early and hopefully have a wonderful nights sleep. The day started with some English muffins and sausage, many people enjoyed coffee. Then it was off to lab where we finished our Rebuttals lecture and worked on drills regarding case construction, CX, presentation, and rebuttals of course. Then it was off to lunch with some delicious desert of pudding, oreos, and whipped cream. Special shout out to Jacob who knows more about blood diamonds than Kay Jewelers.

Time to log in AM’s blog.

Oh the joys of case writing and editing. We can tell how hard the cherubs have been working just by talking and looking at them. It started with a Rebuttals lab, the students were VERY active and participatory. Then it was off to the library! While students were research Liz and Alston took turns having individual meetings with the students to discuss their case positions. After dinner, students came back to the library where we finished case discussion and showed them a couple of very helpful drills so that there rebuttals, case writing/editing and cross ex drills will be fan-tab-ulous! Special shout-out to Kui and Steph for working Sup-ah hard and staying supa-h
fresh!!!!!!

We don’t want to sound tab, we just LAH-LAH-LOVE lab.

Both the fun and hard work are increasing proportionally as camp progresses. Breakfast was super fresh at Bruce Hall, where many enjoyed a dish of eggs, bacon and muffins with a side of a creamy latte. Then it was off to lab, thankfully today we didn't have to get soaking wet in torrential downpours. The CX lab was extremely effective as students pressed us with important questions and were given strategies, tips, and tricks to enhance anyone's CX performance. For the latter part of lab students shared the articles and cards they have found so far in order to help one another. Then we had a short goodbye as students went to their article groups and lunch. After lunch we engaged in a very effective library session with the whole camp. Our students had access to over twenty all-star debate instructors to help them form positions and research evidence. Then it was dinner followed by an intense casing lab! We are all looking forward to tomorrow!

PS:
Our lab is an awesome lab,
It reigns from debaters above,
With wisdom, power, and skill,
Our lab is an awesome lab!
